I’ve had a few omakase dinners in my life, but last night’s nigiri omakase at Masayoshi has to be one of the best I’ve ever had. The fish was deliciously perfect, and the craftsmanship (beautifully on display as we sat at the sushi bar) was impeccable.

We’ve been eating incredibly well on this trip to Vancouver, but last night’s meal was a clear standout.

Here’s what we were served during the omakase:

  • baby eel and quail egg shooter
  • snapper 🍣
  • yellowtail 🍣
  • squid 🍣
  • bluefin tuna akami 🍣
  • bluefin tuna chutoro 🍣
  • bluefin tuna otoro 🍣
  • miso soup
  • Japanese bream 🍣
  • horse mackerel 🍣
  • mackerel 🍣
  • needlefish 🍣
  • spot prawn 🍣
  • red snapper 🍣
  • sea urchin nigiri 🍣
  • geoduck (smoked) 🍣
  • sea eel (torched) 🍣
  • tamago
  • tofu cheesecake
  • Suntory Hibiki 🥃
