My latent anxiety levels have been very high over the past four days—as someone who suffers from anxiety disorder, that’s usually a sign that something bad is on the way unless I make some changes—so I’m spending some time today to be a little slower, more mindful than I usually am.

My favorite barista is back (after taking some time off to focus on school) at my local coffee shop, and we just spent the past twenty minutes catching up on life and it’s remarkable just how much that small interaction has made a difference on my mood and demeanor so far today.

So thankful for these small kindnesses.
